Original Piano Album: "Preludes of a Forest Pond"

After many months of work preparing, recording, and editing, I'm finally releasing my first solo album. "Preludes of a Forest Pond" is a collection of nine "preludes" for piano, inspired by the nature that lives around us. In typical Third-Stream style, I pulled from both Classical influences and Jazz harmony to create these pieces that cross genres. All the pieces are Through-Composed (fully written out), but I worked to still keep sense of improvisation and flexibility.

Track List:

A Shining Spark

Clouds Illuminated at Sunset

Bristlegrass

A Child's Forgotten Dream

Prelude in Eb Minor

Shifting Colors

Waltz of the Willow Trees

The Hyacinth's Last Petal

The Sorcerer Creating

The cover art featured here is by local Boston artist and friend Simone Watts. I came to the cover art process with an image of a quiet pond in a forest not too separate from the city, with weeping willow trees, buzzing insects, and softly rippling water. I took inspiration from the Arlington Great Meadow area along the Minuteman Bike Trail in Arlington, Mass. The scenery changes from bustling residential to natural wetlands and ponds so smoothly you forget how close you are to the big city.

Simone helped me develop my idea, and then he drew this breathtakingly beautiful cover in pencil. Many thanks Simone! Hope to work together again in the future.
